During your house search or posting, remember many houses are not this nor that. Architectural classifications are much more precise, however since there are so so many, they are not offer as a search style on MLS services. MLS, multiple listing service, is a home availble listing that is available to member Realtors, this allow easier access to the entiral market.

Traditional House Style

Most common style in the USA. Mix of simple designs. May include symmetrically spaced windows.May be a Colonial , Georgian, Cape Cod saltbox, or some ranches.

Trinity House Style

Three to Four stories with one room per story with a shared staircase. Some might have the kitchen is in the basement. Common to older Philadelphia.

Tudor House style

Tudor Revivals are modern day interpretations of Medieval cottages. Ah there is a difference between Tudor homes and Medieval houses. Tudor constructions indicates a period of history where people began to feel safer, thus the buildings were not as well fortified. This meant the windows and doors were facing the public instead of the court yard. Typically Tudor Hmes wil have decorative half-timbers exposed, Decorative woodwork and some brick-work, steeply pitched roofs, large chimneys, cross gables, and narrow windows

The United States version has two to three stories, thus allowing for large families. Typically made from stone, wood, and brick. igh ceilings, carved woodwork, archways, chandeliers. fireplace. Subtypes or sub from those years: Gothic Revival Style, Folk Victorian Style, Shingle Style, Queen Anne Style (this is the style that most people expect), Second Empire Style ...

"villa" is often applied to vacation rental properties. The term Villas has been applied to single family units, that has a association controlling. Sometimes in a gated community.
